The plant is a vegetable as well as a #medicinal. It is traditionally used to treat various gastrointestinal diseases, rheumatism, hepatic diseases, cancers, and more. It has been scientifically studied and proven to be an antioxidant, antidiabetic, #carminative, antiinflammatory, and #analgesic. Its famous local name is Chunga, and it is available in the market under this name as a winter vegetable. The plant faces various threats, including but not limited to overexploitation and grazing.
