Making an Epoxy Resin Skull Ashtray with Dusted Holographic Powder, Silver Flakes and Sapphire Blue

For this epoxy resin art video I used my new favourite silicone mould. It is a skull ashtray/dish/holder and I cannot get enough of this wee beauty, so much so that I have bought myself a second one. I dusted holographic mica powder on the small skulls along the side and the bigger skull on the base. Doing this really helps those areas to pop and catch the eye. I did this ashtray (and the others) in two layers. The first layer I went in and poured into the tips with the clear resin and flakes. The second layer I began with the lightest shade, then I worked my way to the darkest shade at the base. Here is where I tried to blend some of the shades of blue using a poke needle and a heat gun. Does anyone else love manipulating the colours together with the heat gun?
