My 26th birthday was this week so I thought I would share the 26 things I’ve learned by 26 years old 💛 These are all life lessons that I have learnt throughout my life that I want to share with you all—especially those who are younger than me. I hope you guys enjoy this video and find it valuable! 26 Things I’ve Learned by 26: 1. Don’t sweat the small stuff. 2. Think before you speak. 3. Tomorrow is not a guarantee. 4. Call your loved ones often. 5. It’s good to have a daily routine but it’s also okay to divert from that routine sometimes. 6. You can’t please everyone (so don’t try to or the result will be disappointing). 7. Do something (even if it is only a few minutes) each day to make yourself happy. 8. Self care is not optional. It’s essential. 9. If something is important enough to you, you will make it a priority. 10. If you make a grocery list in advance it is a lot easier to avoid buying things you don’t need. 11. Spending time with your significant other where neither of you are on your phone or other devices is important. 12. Your cell phone is not your identity. 13. Sunshine is actually really good for your mental health. 14. Working out does not just help you physically, but mentally too. 15. Making your bed can actually lead to a more productive day 16. Setting designated days for laundry is a good way to prevent yourself from getting behind on it and helps prevent you from running out of clean clothes. 17. You have to surround yourself with people who make you happy. If you are constantly questioning yourself when you are around friends, those probably aren’t your people. 18. It’s better to have fewer friends with more meaningful relationships rather than a lot of friends. 19. If you only put time into your dating life and relationships and not into your friendships, you may not have those friends later on in life. 20. We grieve because we love. And we are so lucky to have experienced that love. This is a paraphrased quote I found. 21. Establishing good habits can really propel you in life. 22. Seeking help for anxiety or depression is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it is a testament to just how strong you are that you recognize you need help and are willing to talk to someone about it. 23. Dishes and laundry are a lot more fun when you listen to music while you do them. 24. You need to wait 7 days before making big purchases. If after the 7 days you can still justify why you need that item and have not decided not to buy it, then it is likely more of a “need”, not just a “want” and not considered an impulse buy. 25. Having an argument through text messages will almost always end poorly because you can’t convey tone in a text. 26. The best, most rewarding, heartfelt conversations happen on long drives.
