Enduring Activity: 2021 Pediatric Grand Rounds “Vascular Anomalies: An Update" Target Audience This activity is targeted toward all general pediatric physicians and pediatric subspecialists in the community. Statement of Need Pediatric grand rounds provide physicians a continuous update on emerging trends in caring for the pediatric patient, including new scientific discoveries that provide the underpinning of current pediatric practice. This activity will inform physicians about other issues involving professionalism, socioeconomic issues, and topics related to the ACMGE core competencies. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to: 1. Review and better understand classification and terminology of vascular anomalies. 2. Improve understanding of the mechanism of action of propranolol in treatment of hemangiomas as well as alternatives to propranolol therapy. 3. Highlight new data categorizing distribution and location of infantile hemangiomas that are associated with internal anomalies. 4. Discuss more recently discovered genetic causes of capillary malformations and associated syndromes.
