This week on Endless Venture, we take on one of the wildest places left on Earth — the legendary Okavango Delta in Botswana. And we’re not experiencing it from a safari vehicle. We’re doing it the only way that feels right to us — on foot. For 7 nights and 8 days, Riley and I trek from point A to point B across the African bush, carrying everything we need on our backs. Packs weighing between 70 and 100 pounds. Brutal heat. Dehydration. Blisters that make every step a challenge. Each night, we crawl into tiny backpacking tents, fully aware that we’re sharing this landscape with some of the most iconic wildlife on the planet. Lions roaring in the darkness. Elephants moving through camp. African wild dogs on the hunt. Hyenas whooping under the stars. Leopards in the trees. Hippos in the waterways. Endless herds of antelope crossing the floodplains. But we’re not alone out there. We’re guided by Kane Motswana, a San bushman whose knowledge has been passed down through thousands of years of generational wisdom from his San ancestors — the first inhabitants of Southern Africa. Every track in the sand, every broken blade of grass, every distant sound carries meaning. Walking beside him completely changes the way we see the bush. We’re also joined by our good friend Alistair Wilmot, a 4th-generation Motswana who brings his own deep connection and understanding of this land. This isn’t just an adventure — it’s an education. There are moments that leave us in absolute awe, and others that push us to our physical and mental limits. Out here, we’re not at the top of the food chain. We’re students of the wild, learning step by step. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to truly immerse yourself in the African wilderness — boots on the ground, no barriers, no shortcuts — this is that journey. This is Endless Venture in Africa.
