We started by putting the frame together. Then after squaring up the frame by measuring diagonals, we laid down the slate starting with the middle piece. Then the slate needs to be flattened and the table needs to be level. We then used bees wax to fill the seams between the pieces of slate. Then can laying down the felt and stretching it. We actually reused the felt that came with the table. Using the old felt required careful stretching of the felt and aligning it with the existing bolt holes already cut into the felt. We decided to repurpose felt for pool table while kids were going to learn how to play pool. After they learn, we could then refelt the table.
