Day 62–64 of our overland journey from the UK to Australia. We spent New Year’s Eve in Cappadocia, fully expecting a quiet night… and instead experienced one of the most surreal nights of our lives. From snowy cave views and an unreal Turkish meal, to fire being blasted into the air with music, fireworks over the valleys, and sharing the moment with our hotel family, Cappadocia completely blew us away. Then, just when we thought our luck had run out… we woke up to minus 16°C and the hot air balloons were flying. A proper pinch-me moment.
