R3MORA (Resin 3D-Printed Mission Oriented Research Assistant) is a diver-deployable remotely operated vehicle (ROV) manufactured using stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing. It is created with a modular design that can be mounted on the side of a scuba tank for ease of deployment. Divers and hobbyists alike may use the vehicle to widen their exploration area and thereby increase awareness of their surroundings. For example, divers who are not certified to enter caves or wrecks could explore those areas by using R3MORA as a scout. The vehicle’s 3D-printed pressure enclosures feature a rail system that provides mounting points for components such as motors, cameras, or scientific instruments. Finite element analysis (FEA) verified the maximum submersion depth of the enclosures. The cost of printing the enclosures is minimal compared to commercial off-the-shelf solutions, increasing the accessibility of underwater technology to divers and hobbyists. R3MORA is applicable at the recreational, commercial, and professional diver levels due to its modular and low-cost design.
