Hey Y’all! Today we’re gonna be checking out the Toro60 by Toro Studios. It’s a 60% CWKL keyboard that also has an option for HHKB blockers. Inspired by the studios mascot (A Shiba Inu) this board has gorgeous curves and a stunning weight. Now I’m sad to say I missed being able to get this in my hands before the GB period ended due to some unforeseen postal issues, but I still really wanted to put this out here and let people see some more of this gorgeous keyboard. Specs: 60% keyboard with Exploded Spacebar CWKL or HHKB layout Brass or Copper Weight Hidden Screws for seamless design 1.6mm non-flex cut PCB, QMK/VIA Compat, Underglow RGB, Custom daughterboard Front Height: 17.75mm Typing Angle: 7 Degree Top Mount Time stamps: 0:00 - 0:18 Intro/B-Roll 0:19 - 1:09 Pom Plate Typing Test 1:10 - 2:00 Carbon Fiber Typing Test 2:01 - 2:13 Outro/B-Roll The Toro60 features an exploded spacebar which I personally vibe with. It’s a unique aesthetic that we don’t see very often in keyboards. It didn’t take me anytime at all to get used to it. It’s a top mount keyboard with 5 mounting points. 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom (avoiding the spacebar) even with the carbon fiber plate it had a pleasantly surprising amount of flex to it while typing; which was nice as it made it very comfortable to type on. I had the Hotswap pcb which offers Stepped/Normal Caps, Split/Full Backspace, Split/Full Right Shift, & Split/Full Left Shift. ISO is only supported on the solder pcb. Sound: Sound wise it’s solid. The proto I had was leaning a littler more towards the deeper side of things in my opinion, but you would have no problem making this thing clack if you wanted to. The sound is pretty even across the board minus some resonance around the left shift/caps lock area. This could be due to the weight as there were some tolerance issues and it had a gap between it and the case. Conclusion: I think this is a really great board for anyone who is in the market for a unique 60% keyboard and at the GB price of $250 USD (before shipping) you are getting a really good value as well. I’d say if your regional vendor picked up extras be on the look out for them! As always thanks for all your support it truly means the world to me. It’s encouraged & motivated me to keep putting out content and has led to me being able to showcase really cool stuff like this to the community. And thank you @keebaholics3050 for letting me check this out! Special shoutout to @keyboard_dad for being my wing/middle man haha.
