The epic portrait of Friuli the next day of the devastation when the 6th may 1976, an earthquake of exceptional gravity jolt the Friuli. The earthquake shock lasted 57 second, but this short part of time was sufficient to cause serious damages to the house and to infrastructures. The epicenter localized near the citizen of Gemona to 34 kilometri from Udine. Numerous town, for a beam of 60 km from the epicenter, were invest from the earthquake. Maiano, Buia, Gemona, Osoppo, Artegna, Colloredo, Tarcento, Forgaria and many other town of the Pedemontana come completely razed to the ground. The drama of those days seems lost in the time for how many at least not lived it directly. We return between the signs of that past and we try to recover the moments of the tragedy from who has lived it: the national fire departments in the desperate hope to aid the homeland people. The camera also focuses the heartbreaking personal stories of the rescuers. This journey provides a detailed chronology of the events, from the tragic moment of the earthquake shock, to the first aids until to the reconstruction. The earthquake of the friuli has represented also a test bench in order to face similar disasters and the federal emergency management agency born here.
