For Starters - we think we can When you live as your own king, you make and break your own rules. Often we have drifted away from God, rejected the thought of Him in our sin, and so we run the stop sign and ignore the possible consequences often waiting shortly thereafter, and even then, most are sorry, only because they are caught or guilty and are prone to be repeat offenders. Too often, we are not satisfied, so we compare then we covet or are jealous, even angry feeling we are or were cheated (not included in) or out of something. We cry foul, that's not Fair - on that part I will agree with you. Life is not fair, and can be cruel, but this may surprise some of you God can do things that seem to be not fair, but He is always Right, because in the end, He has worked out something good in us, we would not had signed up for any other way. So the KEYS here to sin - Too HIGH a view of SELF Too LOW a view of God, no respect, nothing sacred, nothing right or holy, Focus is me Centered on the Entertaining Distraction (bait) oh but if we realized or saw THE PAIN of our sin - imagine putting a good friend of yours thru a lot of anguish for something you did ... it is we who deserve the punishment, yet do we PAUSE (full stop?) do we REFLECT? what is this doing to those around me, what is it doing to me, does God have feelings? The trap door is we think no one sees, we think there will be no pay back or consequence, sadly we underestimate just how sever that can be in this life, and the next so do we remain stubborn? He is gracious to us, even in our failure to show us, ok you missed it this time, how about another chance? God isn't willing anyone perishes nor does He condemn those who come to Him, for He loves the sinner who knows their need, and He forgives and strengthens.
