Got a message on tumblr requesting a reupload of the first part of this video. Long-time visitors of this channel will remember that for some asinine reason beyond human comprehension, youtube just up and removed the first part a few years ago. The only backups I have of it are the original tape (which I can no longer record because my USB video recorder thing broke) and a 480x360 .wmv from a DVD-R I made 6 years ago. In the interest of the video not getting totally butchered by youtube's compression, I upscaled it to 1080p. I invite anyone viewing this video to consider it in light of the past two decades of america's occupation of Afghanistan. What future does the special imagine, and how does this vision differ from what actually came to pass? What messages are prioritized, and which are diminished or excluded? What judgments does the episode cast? What is portrayed positively and what is portrayed negatively? What conclusions might a child draw after viewing this special, and how true would they be? archive.org mirror soon comments disabled for the sake of avoiding potential racist nonsense
