Sacramento's homeless population lives in tiny homes. Dregs of the City: Sacramento is a SIX SEVEN short documentary that dives into the troubles that plague the homeless population in Sacramento. This SIX SEVEN documentary puts an emphasis on the new tiny home homeless communities, also known as the pallet homes, and investigates one of the pallet home communities to see what the city is doing right and what it's doing wrong with the Sacramento homeless crisis. These pallet homes are essentially homeless encampments, which are becoming increasingly popular due to the recent supreme court ruling allowing cities to ban homeless encampments. The city of Sacramento has seen skyrocketing numbers of homeless people over these last several years, while in very recent years nearby cities like San Francisco have technically seen decreasing numbers in their population. Is there a correlation? This documentary dives into homelessness in the aim of drawing out truth through the wildness that is Sacramento.
