This is my 2020 Ford Transit Connect XL long wheelbase cargo van and I picked it up new for around $23,500. I went with this van over a Promaster, Sprinter, or regular transit for a few reasons. First of all being price. It's tough to get a full size van under $30,000 which I wasn't ready to spend since I'm not doing a full conversion. Second is fuel economy. This van averages 25mpg between city and highway, while their larger counterparts would be lucky to average 20. Lastly as this is going to be my day to day car, I don't need a huge van for simple tasks like getting groceries. This van is small enough that it feels no different than driving any regular car. For phase one of my "conversion" I wanted to do it simple, cheap, and modular while still being comfortable for extended weekend trips to my favorite riding destinations. I'm going to Colorado in less than two weeks for it's maiden voyage, and I'll use that time to figure out what works and what needs to be changed. Phase two would be fixing any issues I find during phase one, or upgrading certain features, but we're a long way from that. So without further ado, let's take a tour of my new van.
