Ivan Bates and Brandon Scott traded letters and barbs, and a few weeks later, the two men met face-to-face and released a statement reiterating their commitment to reducing violence in Baltimore. As Bates kicks off his re-election effort, he said there was never any beef between the two but took issue with the fact that his original letter to Mayor Scott was released to the media.
