If ever there was a funnyman of the entertainment industry who needed no introduction then it would be Mel Brooks as his legendary resume quite simply speaks for itself. After all, who else can say they not only wrote and directed, but also acted in the kind of films he did over the course of his career? No one, that’s who. And this is why, when it comes to satirical comedians, he really is in a league of his own. Even to this day in fact, there’s arguably no one who can touch him. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about the brilliance of the debut movie, The Producers, the absolute skewering of racism he put forth in Blazing Saddles, or the classic moments he provided in later flicks like Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights, everything about what Mel Brooks has done has been brilliant. And that also applies to the movies he had no hand in the creation of, only acted in, movies such as The Little Rascals, Screw Loose, and the Hotel Transylvania franchise. Obviously then, the list of accolades that Mel Brooks has to his name are long and varied, with them including an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, a BAFTA Fellowship Award, and four Primetime Emmys.
