Two prominent Islamic seminaries in Karachi — Jamia Darul Uloom Yaseen-ul-Quran and Jamia Al-Arabia Ahsan-ul-Uloom — have officially revoked the academic credentials of Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Citing his extremist ideology and anti-state activities, the institutions distanced themselves from Mehsud and declared the TTP a misguided and extremist group.
