How to choose a university for Masters in Robotics?

I have Low CPI :8.25 with 2 patents(pending) and a startup grant from IIT Ropar and work is going on research paper. Will these things suffice for my low CPI? Please also talk about doing online courses/certification for professionals like me who are already working and want to pursue career in robotics and automation. Is it worth spending crores of rupees to study in expensive private universities like UPenn, CMU, etc? I am confused whether to choose UMD or WPI for robotics. As UMD does not have thesis there will be a lot of courses. Will i be compromising quality by choosing quantity (more courses) by choosing UMD? About opportunities during master's and post master's in USA? What all the difficulties and challenges faced while pursuing Masters in Robotics in USA? Approximate total cost of education, living, food etc. during Masters in USA is it fine if I work in first year remotely for Indian companies ? Can you explain what is graduate assistantship?
