This is a cab view of the JR Uchibo Line that runs along Tokyo Bay in Chiba Prefecture. The train I'm riding on passes through Tokyo Station and travels to Zushi Station in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is on the opposite side of Tokyo Bay. This video shows the journey from Kisarazu Station to Goi Station. This section opened in 1912. There were probably more views of the sea back then, but the coastline is no longer visible due to the development of industrial areas through land reclamation. Still, among the rows of houses, you can occasionally find nature that reminds you of the past. The view of skyscrapers beyond the rice fields also seems to help to show how this area has been developed in recent years. JR lines are spaced far apart between stations (a vestige of the time when steam locomotives operated here long ago), and there are only six stations along a stretch of roughly 20 km.
