MWHC Flyover & Parade to Salute Healthcare Workers

Local community groups came together to express their gratitude and love for the MWHC Associates and medical staff on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Fredericksburg region. MWHC thanks the generous volunteers who coordinated the effort. It warms our heart to see the outpouring of support from our community. The parade was organized by a member of the community who just wanted to give back and do something to show support for our healthcare workers. Her grassroots Facebook event drew hundreds of cars to Mary Washington Hospital for a parade with honking horns, painted windows and homemade signs. Members of the formation flight are all local VA residents. Several have a military flying background, others are from the airlines, and two are purely civilian pilots with regular day jobs. Some regularly fly with the Flying Circus Airshow in Bealeton, now in its 50th year of continuous operation. But all are members of the Mid-Atlantic Stearman Association based in VA. MASA exists solely to promote Stearman flying and to preserve these amazing vintage WWII biplanes.
