A culture of hierarchy and academic bullying exists not just in Indian medical schools, but across institutions in the country. In the past few years, a sharp increase in suicide among medical doctors have been observed and is now being recognized increasingly. And for many belonging to the lower caste, questions and the unjust treatment never ends. Does belonging to a lower caste precipitate mental ill health in medical students?
