This video takes me back to 2023… Five months after I was diagnosed with FND — a time when nothing in my world felt familiar anymore. I was still trying to understand what was happening to my body. Still trying to accept that this wasn’t “just stress,” or “just fatigue,” or “just in my head.” It was real. It was life-changing. And it was something I never saw coming. Back then, every day felt like learning how to live in a new body — one that didn’t always cooperate. My legs, my hands, my speech… everything had moments where it felt like it belonged to someone else. And emotionally? I was grieving the life I thought I’d have… while trying to make peace with the one I was suddenly living. But here’s something I wish someone had told me back then: You don’t have to go through chronic illness alone. You’re allowed to ask for help. You’re allowed to break down. You’re allowed to say, “This is too hard today.” Reaching out isn’t weakness — it’s survival. If you’re struggling with FND, chronic illness, pain, disability, or the weight of everything hitting at once, please know this: You matter. Your story matters. And your pain is real. Please reach out to someone — a friend, a service, anyone who can hold space for you. 📞 Australia-wide support: Lifeline: 13 11 14 – Crisis support Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 – Mental health support 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) – Support for trauma & DV survivors FND Hope (Online) – Resources & community support Your local GP or hospital emergency department Chronic illness can feel isolating, but you are NOT alone. There is help. There is support. And there is hope — even on the days it feels impossibly far away. 🎥 Thanks for watching.
