Moreover, Nicosia is not just a capital city, but the only capital in the world that simultaneously belongs to two states. The city is divided into 2 parts, one of which belongs to Northern (Turkish) Cyprus, the second to Southern (Greek) Cyprus. The so-called “Green Line”, a UN buffer zone, runs through the very center of the city, which today serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict between the Turks and Greeks. 🏃🏼‍♀️ I invite you to walk with me around the Northern part of Nicosia, namely the Old Town.
