The Seaboard RISE 2: https://bit.ly/TobiROLI I spent the last week with @weareroli's Seaboard RISE 2 and used it to produce a classic cinematic soundtrack. I have to admit that I was initially a bit skeptical about the extent to which the Seaboard could be integrated into my workflow, since I've been working with "normal" MIDI keyboards for 17 years. But honestly, it was fantastic. The way my organic gestures translate to my music is quite fascinating and extremely useful (everyone probably knows the moment when you make the typical vibrato movement on your keyboard). In addition to the glide feature (bend pitch + vibrato effect), which saves you a lot of time manually editing pitch automations, you can also gain control over your MPE sounds in further "dimensions". In addition to classic velocity, it also records how hard you press the key after hitting the key, which triggers dynamic effects. In addition, you can slide up and down, which basically replaces the familiar mod wheel & the speed at which you lift your fingers from the button is also recorded. The whole thing happens super smoothly & I had no problems with the integration into my DAW and/or my workflow. I scheduled ~20 hours for the production of this track, because I thought I would need a lot more time to get used to the RISE 2 - but in the end it “only” took me about 10 hours because using the special keybed is actually super intuitive (at least it was that way for me). Tip: You have to activate your instrument channel so that all midi inputs are recorded, as the RISE 2 sends on several midi channels. I hope that I was able to give a good impression of my work with the RISE 2 in my video. If you have any questions, just leave a comment.
