UC Ag Experts Talk: Integrated Soil Health Management for Plant Health and One Health

Dr. Joji Muramoto discussed non-fumigant-based management strategies for soil-borne disease and overall soil and plant health with the concept of Integrated Soil Health Management (ISHM). He described anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD) as a non-fumigant alternative for soilborne disease management, its mechanisms, and its implementation for strawberries. He explained the framework and four components of an integrated soil health management system and how this is important for developing and implementing biointensive soil health management strategies for a particular agroecosystem. The webinar was recorded on April 30, 2025 and targeted to growers and pest management professionals.
