We are along CSX's Conrail River Line Subdivision, where we see LORAM Rail Grinder RG 318 as it works south along the line. In the first scene, we see the grinder as it passes by Automatic 58 and crosses the Widow's Crossing just off of Commonwealth Avenue. The train backs up and makes another pass, presumably to smooth out a rough spot. As the train passes the second time around, we see the technician in the back as he puts out a small line side brush fire caused by the sparks. In the next scene, we're on Water Street just south of the Washington Street grade crossing, as the train makes a couple of passes, including watering down the switch and siding for the Newburgh Industrial, before continuing south. I am unsure as to what the origins are for the parts of the train with locomotive trucks, and whether they were actually locomotives years ago, or if they were scratch built solely for the purpose of rail grinding. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the rail grinder as it works. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The videos were taken on November 15th, 2015.
