Processed Meats: Processed meats like bacon and hot dogs are classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the World Health Organization due to their nitrate content, which can lead to cancer-causing compounds and contribute to the stiffening of the arteries, increasing the risk of a heart attack. It's best to limit or avoid processed meats and opt for organic and nitrate-free options instead. 6. Deep Fried Foods: Deep-fried foods like French fries and fried chicken contain harmful compounds called AGEs, which cause inflammation and damage cells, and artery walls, and can lead to cancer, nervous system damage, liver and kidney damage, and heart disease. Opt for healthier cooking methods like baking, roasting, boiling, or using an air fryer and experimenting with spices for added flavor. 5. Refined Grains - Refined grains are a staple in modern diets but they are stripped of important nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The lack of nutrients and the presence of empty carbohydrates can cause a spike in blood sugar levels, leading to a range of health problems such as heart disease and diabetes. 4. Unnaturally Grown Animal Products - Consuming meat from grain-fed cows that have been raised in factory farms and fed genetically modified corn and soy can lead to an imbalance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, contributing to inflammation and various health problems such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and more. 3. Sugary drinks - regular consumption can lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cavities. A single can of soda contains over the daily recommended limit of sugar and fruit juices are also packed with sugar. Energy drinks are worse as they contain high levels of caffeine and sugar.
