Transall C-160 Goodbye Tour Holzdorf LTG 63
The Transall C-160 has been used as a transport aircraft in the German Armed Forces for 53 years. At the end of the year, the last Transall formation, the Air Transport Wing 63 from Hohn near Rendsburg, was disbanded. Therefore the Transall 50 + 40 got a special paint. It is also known as the "Retro-Brummel". For many active and former soldiers, saying goodbye to the Transall is an emotional moment, as many memories are associated with the machine. The Transall C-160 will be replaced by the A400M and C-130J Hercules. The video shows the line-up of soldiers and civilian employees from Holzdorf Air Base to a "BYE", the overflight of the specially painted Transall C-160 with a pilot plane (Transall C-160 in camouflage paintwork) and helicopter escort, the landing of the two Transall, the Refueling of the aircraft, some interior shots and the departure of the two Transall C-160s. As an unplanned addition to the shooting date, the overflights of 2 AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System, Boeing 707, at 6:14 and 11:05) and a Eurofighter (at 17:31) can be seen.
