Tavasz első napja március 1. Még minden téli üzemmódban a Tisza-tó. Idén utoljára. Ma kezdik megemelni a vízszintet, hogy hetek múlva már a nyári vízszint várja a látogatókat. Még hallatszanak Dinnyésháton a darvak és vadlibák, de hangjuk már keveredik énekesmadaraink tavaszt jelző énekével. Az elmúlt évben október 31-én szálltam a tél előtt utoljára vízre, 2025-ben ma először. Egyre korábban és egyre tovább a vízen. Az elmúlt évben március 15-e, előtte március vége, április eleje volt. A vízen lenni, mint mindig, jó érzés. Azért van itt valami. Vagy éppen nincs. Sem olvadó hó, vagy jégtáblák. Nyoma sincs a távozó télnek, már évek óta nincs nyoma ... Dinnyésháti sólyapályán küzdöttem be kajakomat a vízbe, majd elindultam a Tiszára, ahol folyással szembe fordultam. Last year, it was March 15, before that, it was the end of March or the beginning of April. Being on the water, as always, is a good feeling. There's something special here—or perhaps it's the absence of something. There's no melting snow or ice floes. There hasn't been any sign of the departing winter for years now... I struggled to get my kayak into the water at the Dinnyéshát falconry track and headed onto the Tisza, turning upstream. Along the way, I turned into the IV. sluice, even though I knew the gate was closed, just to see the drained canal up close. Then, I continued towards the Kis-Tisza. In November, the water level was even lower, practically leaving its entrance dry. Indeed, you couldn't paddle out from the harbor, as the Tisza's water level was below the harbor's exit. Even now, I had to be careful; at many points, my paddle reached into the mud. There were also situations among the protruding stumps where the bottom of the kayak scraped the mud, meaning the bottom of the lake and the kayak touched. Twenty minutes of kayaking out of three hours, sometimes with paddles, sometimes pedaling on the water that was just a few degrees Celsius, which was regularly reminded to me by the splashing water.
