These are auxiliary groups of volunteers, often youth with ever fewer options in life in Eastern Congo, who are trying to protect their families against invaders in their home of Eastern Congo. Here, this is the Mai-Mai (Mayi Mayi) youth militia coming from Fizi who have prepared themselves and are going towards Goma to protect the city of Goma.
