What i wanted to do was to see the difference between repetier firmware and marlin firmware, in specific how they differ from one another when it comes to vibration of your 3D printer. The test g-code, linked below, will send the printer to home positions, then move to a starting position and pause. When un-paused, a star pattern is completed at a lower speed and feed rate, then completed again is a faster speed and feed rate, generating start and end time stamps in the log. If you downlaod and try it, please adjust the speed/feed, acceleration and jerk values in your firmware and in the g-code to lower values, and work your way up. ==================== So In conclusion, wich is better, repetier or marlin? I guess that's a matter of personal preference. If i wanted less vibration, i could lower the acceleration and or jerk values in repetier, but in turn i would also end up with lower end result speeds, just as in the Marlin firmware. I guess the ultimate test would be to lower the parameters in repetier firmware until you matched the end result speeds with marlin, and then compare the vibration. This would have to be a careful balance of all 3 configuration parameters. Also, please be aware of the fact that too much stress on your 3D printer can cause structural failure, especially in your 3d printers printed parts. I take no responsability for this g-code as is or modified or firmware changes that you make. You should be cautios of all the factors whan making configuration changes. =================== A much more in-depth guide to adjusting stepper motors: • 3D printing guides - How steppers wor...
