The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge received a few updates this model year, such as the updated front 40 series facia. It is still one of two EVs on sale from the Swedish brand before the EX90 goes into production, yet I found it still to be a car for volvo loyalists more than anyone. The Pros: ⠀ +The styling is sleek, one of the better looking EVs on the road next to its sleeker C40 sibling. EPA range numbers overall are still disappointing at around 223miles. +The interior and controls are great if you are familiar with the Volvo ecosystem and are fully vegan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚡️ @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: The XC40 packs a battery with 75kWh of usable space. I barely could get 200miles. The XC40 is capable of 150kWh DC fast charging with up to 80% from 0% in 40min. These numbers aren’t as quick compared to vehicles thousands cheaper like the EV6 or ioniq5. The XC40 comes only with 2 electric motors to make 402HP, 0-60 in 4.3sec. ⚡️ The Cons: -The Android Automotive based infotainment software is glitchy, confusing and filled with complex menus while the driver’s display lacks any sort of configuration. 360 cameras are basic in function. -Interior build quality is solid though materials feel sparse and are primarily plastics, recycled material or vegan leather. The rear blindspots with the sloping roofline are horrific.. enough said. -This car was not designed for any sort of performance or corner carving driving with a light disconnected steering feel, and high seating position. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ -For an as tested price of over $60,000 it comes in high compared to other EVs with greater specifications. The XC40 is a looker for shore and has some benefits being within the Volvo family, primarily their commitment to safety.
