Vero complains about rats overrunning her buka. As her daughter, Awele, goes to get rat poison, thugs from a gambling ring barge into the buka. The initial agreement of Vero supplying them with free food to offset her late husband’s debt wasn’t cutting it anymore. The thugs want to take her daughter too. Vero pleads with them, and eventually, her son, Ayinde, offers himself in place of his sister. Weeks later, Vero goes to deliver food at the gambling ring and realizes she has not seen Ayinde there in days. The thugs tells her he was sent to the neighbouring town to collect debts. The next day, as Vero and Awele prepare food for the ring, Ayinde friend from the ring, Yaro, rushes in and tells them Ayinde has been dead for days, killed in a shoot-out between a rival ring. #EbonyLifeCreativeAcademy #ELCAShorts #ShortFilm Follow us on social Instagram: / ebonylifecreativeacad Facebook: / ebonylifecreativeacademy Visit our website EbonyLife Creative Academy: https://www.ebonylifecreativeacademy.com About Us EbonyLife Creative Academy is supported by the Lagos State Government through Lagos State Creative Industries Initiative (LACI), under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
