This was an offline run, but I typically stream live on Twitch over at / zzrules21 , go check it out! Such a fun run! I've played this game since it released, and I've wanted to run it since beating it, but I'm bad at the game so the earlier patches were too difficult that I just couldn't learn the route and actually beat the game at the same time. Fast forward to today, a difficulty slider has since been introduced! Much easier to complete the game when you can put it on an easier difficulty and just focus on learning/remembering the route. Unfortunately, this run isn't eligible for the speedrun.com leaderboards. Category rules don't allow you to change your difficulty at all during the run. I really wanted to learn this game on Ranger difficulty, but you REALLY want to get teleportation bullets ASAP. Fastest way to do this is to temporarily change your difficulty to Outlaw to let Chaos begin sooner, so you can get Chaos Eyes and Chaos Eggs to craft teleportation bullets. I named the "Ranger but change to Outlaw to allow Chaos to begin sooner" category "Any% (Any Difficulty)". I'm looking into submitting this to GDQ events, and this would be the best category for this - the best combination of marathon safe (from the difficulty) and speedy (with the faster Chaos timer and earlier teleportation bullets) I might give the set difficulty categories a shot now that I have a better grasp of the route. Ranger would need a lot of tweaking - either skipping out on teleportation bullets for a while, or figuring out some way of quickly (and consistently) getting them ASAP. Gunslinger difficulty might just be as simple as "use the same pre-difficulty-slider route" - I'll have to give it a shot and see. Overall, excited to keep running the game :)
