5 axis milling on D2-5AX with ESPRIT Edge (Hexagon) during a Workshop at Hwacheon Europe, Nov. 2025

Creating sophisticated NC programs for 5-axis milling typically requires powerful CAM systems. In November 2025, a workshop was held at Hwacheon Europe in Bochum (Germany, NRW), during which the entire process—from the drawing to the finished workpiece—was clearly demonstrated. Hexagon presented this using their modern CAM system ESPRIT EDGE. The generated program was subsequently executed successfully on our 5-axis machining center D2-5AX equipped with a 14,000 rpm spindle. Particularly impressive was the machine's stable and smooth operation, which enabled a high metal removal rate and left a lasting impression on the attendees.
