Something that would stay in his family for a generation or two. I figured that in the process I would make a tutorial for building log benches that can sit around campfire, fire pit, or accent a front entry way. In this video I use a relatively green log, which will likely split over the next few seasons. This was combated by staining the ends of the logs with 6 coats. Any splits in the log can be stained and they will stabilize. This video also features a very easy way and unique way to cut a log directly in half with chainsaw.
