#weareprivada Hit that like button and don't forget to subscribe. Privada, a cigar company, wanted to create a Chinese New Year cigar, but hesitated due to the number of similar releases by other brands. However, they found inspiration in the Year of the Rabbit and decided to release a cigar that was original, refined, and collectible. The cigar is made at the Annex, an experimental factory built by AJ Fernandez for Privada, and features tobaccos from Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. With over a year of age, the Year of the Wabbit cigar is flavorful and ready to smoke. Additionally, the packaging has a whimsical elegance that adds to its collector's value. This is the type of work that Privada takes pride in. The Year of the Wabbit is a unique cigar that stands out among the many Chinese Zodiac cigars in the market. Erik Espinosa, a cigar industry veteran, faced difficulty sourcing the Brazilian wrapper leaf for his best-selling cigar, Laranja, a few years ago. He experimented with substitute wrapper leaves and ended up making a few thousand cigars that came close to Laranja's essence, but not quite the same. Erik stored these orphaned cigars away in his aging rooms in Estelí, Nicaragua. Years later, he stumbled upon them and called Brian Desind, the owner of Privada Cigar Club, knowing that he would appreciate them. After smoking the cigar we started to lovingly call it the Blood Orange. Now after 4 years of aging, we recognize an opportunity to share with our LCA shops the chance to smoke a Blood Orange. Brian considers it a cigar with a great story, aged well, and made once, becoming a little legend. The Blood Orange is flavorful, and Brian is proud to be associated with it. It is the type of cigar that Privada Cigar Club seeks, and he recommends getting one if possible.
