Subscribe for more: https://bit.ly/3SIobn0 As of the end of January 2025, the project to expand and upgrade National Road No. 7 to four lanes with a total length of 45,504 kilometers (PK000+000 – PK45+502.84) starting from Vang Vong Moul Skun, Cheung Prey District, Kampong Cham Province to the base of Kizuna Bridge, Kampong Cham City, Kampong Cham Province, has completed 32.01% of the construction work. According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and a message from His Excellency Phon Rim, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on January 30, 2025. His Excellency stated that the project to expand and upgrade National Road No. 7 has achieved approximately 32.01% of the construction progress and is scheduled to be 100% completed by July 2027. This road is a type of AC (Asphalt concrete) road, 9 centimeters thick, 24.5 meters wide (4 lanes), with 8 new small and large bridges to be built (with a total length of 156 meters), 7 small and large (old) bridges to be repaired (with a total length of 116 meters), storm drains, sewage drains, and various traffic facilities. It is an important road, especially a potential economic artery to help facilitate travel, transport of agricultural products, agro-industry, and promote national socio-economic development and activities. The strategic location of National Road 7 is a network connecting National Road 8 and National Road 11 to Prey Veng province and connecting with Road 71C, then National Road 73 to Tbong Khmum province and National Road 76, then National Road 78 to provinces in the northeast such as: Kratie, Stung Treng, Mondulkiri, and Ratanakkiri provinces. Moreover, the road is connected to the road network of the countries of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
