In this video I go through the process of trying to fit 35 inch tires onto the new 4th GEN Toyota Tacoma. Most things on the Internet say that these new 4th gen’s will clear 35’s no problem but as you will see in this video that is not the case. A true to size 35” tire will end up rubbing just slightly and some trimming will be needed. Offset is key to giving you the best chance of clearing larger tires on the new 4th gen taco and I highly recommend a +25 offset for an optimal position in the fender well. These new Relations Race Wheels RR7–H in a 17”x8.5” +25mm offset fit the new Tacoma perfectly and look great. The new Toyo Open Country RT Pro’s in 35x12.50r17 look much larger in person than other 35 inch tires. In a future video I will go over doing a viper cut on the front bumper to add clearance. Don’t forget to subscribe so that you don’t miss that video. I believe that a 285/75/17 (34”x11.25”) would be the optimal tire for these new generation of Tacoma‘s if you didn’t want to have to do any trimming or cutting and also retain your mud flap and crash bracket. I had originally thought about going with 37 inch tires but I’m glad that I didn’t because I would have definitely had to do a lot more trimming and cutting to make those fit.
