In this session I’m teaching Jasper to wear his bridle. I separated the two things as wearing a bridle with blinkers is very different to a head collar. He didn’t seem to care much about the difference, life was just a bit scary when he couldn’t see, I am planning on cutting the blinkers off once he has learned to harrow my field, as it’s quicker to train a horse to pull with blinkers, and it’ll be easier for him when I do take the blinkers off as he will shady understand the feel and sound, he will just need to get used to seeing it, and with things drying up, I kinda need to be getting on with it asap. Then I showed him how to take a bit. Jasper is quite quick to get frustrated when you hold your hand like this and will bite when he thinks you’re giving him a treat and none is there, so I used that to get him to take the bit in his mouth, and it worked brilliantly. Then when I added the two together, he had very little issues with it. Super proud of how well this little pony is coming on.
