Clouds, wind, lightning, rain, peacocks dancing …the sublime beauty of nature evokes the romance of Krishna and Radha. A classical dance recital that depicts the endearing love of Krishna and Radha, where all of nature’s elements are part of their romance. Poses showing Sambhoga Sringara rasa encapsulate their joyous togetherness. Seeing Radha dance with Krishna is akin to lightning on a dark cloud, the cue for peacocks to dance their rain dance. This is etched in traditional Rangoli art drawn by the choreographed steps of the dancers, performing to a Hindustani Bandish and Rock fusion “Ghir Ghir Aayi Badariya Kaari”, song by 'Advaita', for their debut album 'Grounded in Space'. Creating Rangoli designs through dance is a tradition followed in the Kuchipudi style of dance while performing traditional chitra natyam pieces such as Simhanandini, Mayuranandini. Dancers Mandara B.S (kuchipudi), Ragavarshini Shankar (Bharatanatyam) and Sunil Sunkara (Kathak) have adapted this tradition here, drawing a peacock with Rangoli.
