WIMGYM - West Island Montreal Gymnastics

My goal for the IB Personal Project was to create a promotion video for the West Island Gymnastics Club of Montreal (WIMGYM) that showcases their competitive gymnasts, coaches and facilities.... For as long as I can remember, gymnastics has been a part of my life. Since 2008, I got to call myself a WIMGYM gymnast. I used to think that each success was all my own, but through the years I realized that WIMGYM is the reason I'm where I am today. Each coach I've had the privilege of having taught me new skills, mind sets and lessons that I'd never want to forget. My teammates are the reason I made it through each bad practice, the reason I was able to forget about the stress when they cheered me on and the reason I was able to laugh through the pain. The little girls, new aspiring gymnasts, were the ones who kept me going. They reminded me of the reason I started gymnastics because I was who I once wanted to be. I was who I used to look up to. And now, that I am finally here, I'd like to thank WIMGYM. The opportunities, experiences and memories are those that I would never give up for the world. The falls, injuries and blood are only what made me stronger. I can't put into words how grateful I am that I had the support of WIMGYM throughout my gymnastics career. By creating this video, I'd like to show everyone that WIMGYM is more than a gymnasium that trains gymnasts of varying levels and ages. WIMGYM is the smiles that can't be controlled when you step onto that podium. WIMGYM is the medals that you wear all day even after the competition is over. WIMGYM is the countless ribbons received even when you knew it wasn't your best. WIMGYM is the gold, silver and bronze hung on your wall or kept in a box. WIMGYM is that feeling you get when you know you're about to get that perfect landing. WIMGYM is the skills you get to show off when you're not at the gym and the stares of awe you get from others. WIMGYM is the hug you give your coach when you know you just nailed your routine. WIMGYM is a gymnast's life. WIMGYM is a family. WIMGYM is a home.
