Visit the Mohammed Ali Mosque in Cairo, the capital of Egypt The Saladin Citadel, also known as the Cairo Citadel, the gem of Cairo, stands proudly on the top of the Mukatam Hill, overlooking the historic city with its majestic appearance. The Citadel was originally built by the great Sultan Saladin of the Ayyubid dynasty. It has gone through many vicissitudes and has long served as the official residence of the Egyptian government, witnessing countless historical events. Since 1983, the Citadel has opened its arms to the public and has now become one of Cairo's most popular tourist destinations. Inside the Citadel, the inner wall cleverly divides it into the North District and the South District. The North District, carrying the glorious memory of the Ayyubid dynasty, is stationed with brave troops as a military fortress. The South District is the result of the expansion during the Mamluk period, with gorgeous buildings scattered in an orderly manner, and the observation deck offers a panoramic view of the city's beauty. In the South District, the Mohammed Ali Mosque is like a shining pearl, shining brightly. This mosque, commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha, was meticulously crafted from 1832 to 1857 and eventually became one of the most dazzling mosques and landmarks on the Cairo skyline. It abandoned the style of traditional Cairo architecture and boldly adopted Ottoman and European styles, which is unique and breathtaking. Its walls are covered with white alabaster, so it is also called the Alabaster Mosque, which is more mysterious and solemn. Mosques, also known as mosques, Islamic temples, and prayer houses, are holy places in the hearts of Muslims, carrying their devout beliefs and endless prayers. Here, every brick and stone, every touch of color, tells the vicissitudes of history and the power of faith.
