How to start and complete the Wutai 'Stolen Materia' quest in the original Final Fantasy 7, including where to find all of Yuffie's hiding places. Wutai is an optional area of the game you can visit on the far west side of the world, but you need to make sure - or at least I recommend - you save your game in a separate slot first before you step foot on the continent. This is because your Materia will be stolen for the duration of the quest, and it’s pretty easy to get stuck on some of the difficult battles there as a result. I’d really recommend you complete the Temple of the Ancients dungeon first. This is where you can find a bunch of powerful weapons that don’t have any Materia slots. And because you don’t need Materia for this quest, they really come in handy, and make this whole thing a lot easier. To start the quest, you need to have recruited Yuffie by this point:    • Final Fantasy 7 - How to recruit Yuffie an...   Also, you need to complete the quest before the end of Disc 2. If you’re not super familiar with the original game, obviously later ports say what the end of Disc 2 is - and I don’t want to spoil the events or location of what that is. You’ve got a bit of time after the Temple of the Ancients dungeon - but you want to get round to it before the game wraps up, which should be self evident.
