Ikea is running a 6 months trial of a new subscription box called “Seasonal Box.” https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/campaigns/... The service is currently only available for Vancouver (Canada) and is a limited edition, with a restricted number of subscriptions available. There are two different subscription options: Monthly and Quarterly. The Monthly box (6 boxes total) contains a surprise mix of 6-8 decorative items, for CAD 45 (+ tax) per box. The Quarterly box (3 boxes total) contains 10-12 decorative items, for CAD 85 (+ tax) per box. Ie. if you want to send candles, you could send apple/cinnamon ones instead of Vanilla. Items do not complement each other. The box could have contained some card to use with the frames, or the washcloth could be the same style/colour as the slippers etc. Things I look forward to seeing improved: This NEEDS a theme to give you good vibes when you open it and, more importantly, to help you with styling the home accessories and be relevant to the season. The total cost of the items is almost the same as the box + delivery (slightly discounted), which I guess gives very little flexibility to make a good box. A better strategy would be providing items at a discounted price and either not allowing returns or, when returning the items, get refunded the discounted price (as you will do for items on sale). This would also allow making sure they cover the delivery costs even if all the content gets returned. No spoiler, please! You cannot send the list of items that will be in ahead of time, come on! Some of the challenges are probably due to the service being on trial, but they risk wasting such a great opportunity while this could be an incredible success.
