Here, I would mention the five main reasons why we should avoid reheating the tea: 1. Polyphenols and other bioactive compounds in tea can get damaged with repeated heating, thereby reducing their antioxidant properties. 2. If tea is left for more than 4 hours at room temperature, there is a risk of bacterial growth. Reheating is not enough to get rid of this bacteria, thereby increasing the risk of gastrointestinal infection. 3. Reheating leads to increased release of tannin from tea leaves. Tannin alters the taste & flavor of tea, making it bitter. Tannin can also interfere with iron absorption. 4. Reheating tea also results in increased release of caffeine from tea leaves.
