The Thin Red Line (1998) - 'Welsh & Witt Talk' scene [1080p]
Hans Zimmer composed one of his most beautiful and popular scores for this WW2 film set in the lush island of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. This moment of calm and reflection after the first battle sequence is beautifully lit and has a subtle and poignant piece of music to accompany it. The theme is used again later in another scene featuring Private Witt (Jim Caviezel), and never used again. Like the majority of Zimmer's score, the music in this scene remained unreleased for over twenty years, but can now be heard on the La-La Land Records expanded soundtrack release from February 2019. Starring Jim Caviezel, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Elias Koteas, Ben Chaplin, John Cusack, Adrien Brody, John C. Reilly, Woody Harrelson, Miranda Otto, Jared Leto, John Travolta, George Clooney, Nick Stahl, Thomas Jane and Tim Blake Nelson. Based on the book by James Jones. Adapted and directed by Terrence Malick. Music by Hans Zimmer and John Powell.
