You can also find me on Instagram as,   / iregusa   Patchwork is an ideal way to take advantage of small scraps that we have left over from other projects and, by forming an entire panel of fabric, you can create anything from them, from things for the home such as tablecloths, cushions, bread bags…, to attractive garments like a miniskirt. I've had the itch to make a miniskirt for a long time, especially since I saw the Dolce&Gabbana spring 2021 collection, full of color and patchwork panels. I traced the skirt with only three measurements, waist, hip and hip height, leaving the entire patchwork panel that I had long, which I previously interlaced to secure the seams and so that the fabric would take on more weight and presence. Once the skirt was sewn face to face, I added loading seams and the zipper, then sewed the lining and finished off the waist and bottom of the skirt with more loading seams. A long but very rewarding project that results in a unique and unrepeatable garment, at almost zero cost, a true luxury!
