중국 코로나관련 시위 확산 Welcome to Issues and Insiders. Today we address the rebound in COVID-19 infections in neighboring China and its related repercussions including public protests against stringent pandemic restrictions. For more I have Professor Kim Moon Kyu from Yonsei University. Professor Kim welcome back. I also have Jonathan Cheng live on the line in Beijing. Jonathan it's good to see you again. 1) Jonathan, first then, what can you tell us about the current COVID-19 outbreak there in China and about its stern containment policy? 2) Professor Kim, as a doctor yourself, what are your thoughts on China's zero tolerance to COVID-19? 3) Jonathan, COVID-19 lockdowns in China are nothing new. I mean, authorities there have been cracking down on the virus since the start of the pandemic. That being said, do tell us a bit about the trigger behind this rare display of public discontent. 4) Professor Kim, U.S. health authorities including White House COVID coordinator Ashish Jha says China should move away from draconian containment efforts and towards boosting vaccination among its elderly and vulnerable. Do you agree? 5) Jonathan, the public protests in Chinese cities have spread beyond borders to London, Paris, Tokyo and Sydney, to name a few. What are the broader implications of this reality for Beijing's fight against COVID-19? 6) Professor Kim, the isolation period for COVID-19 patients in China was reportedly 10 days, but has now been reduced to 8 days. Quite a number of countries recommend 5 days. What do you say? 7) Jonathan, do you suppose a tangible ease in stringent COVID-19 restrictions in China will serve to appease public anger? And what are the chances of such a scenario ? 8) Professor Kim, with regard to COVID-19, I understand that this is a tough question, but for how long, do you believe, will this cycle of retreats and resurgences continue? All right. #China #COVID19 #Arirang_New 📣 Facebook : / arirangtvnews 📣 Twitter : / arirangtvnews 📣 Homepage : http://www.arirang.com/news/News_Inde... 2022-12-01, 14:30 (KST)
