Terry O'Tool of The Warmongers (ex. Thee Attacks) dropped by the Reuss workshop and took a tour of the Reuss demo pedal board. Here he's having a go at the Silver Balloon wah, which is the only DeArmond Thunderbolt clone available anywhere. It's a wah like no other, based on the vintage 1970s DeArmond Thunderbolt, favoured by The Flaming Lips and Mogwai. Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai is currently using the Reuss Silver Balloon in his live-rig. The Reuss Silver Balloon offers a completely different flavour of wah, using a unique type of circuit - which is technically not really a wah at all. In this video Terry O'Tool is running the Silver Balloon in 'Distortion' mode, and trying it with different Reuss fuzzboxes. A Double Bender (two tonebender mk IIIs in one), a Goo Goo Fuzz (FY6 Superfuzz clone) and a Repeater Fuzz (silicon version of a tonebender mk II). There's some digital artifacts in the recording, maybe clipping going on at some stage. These artifacts does not come from the pedal. The Reuss Silver Balloon is availablw now at US$174.95 (plus 25% VAT for customers in the European Union) Reuss pedals are handmade in the European Union and they are available directly from www.reusseffects.com, Pentatonic Guitars in Brooklyn, Tym Guitars in Brisbane, and in Japan at www.gizmo-music.com https://www.reusseffects.com/products...
